1) What famous stars are in His Dark Materials and why do you think they were selected for the show? 

Will-Amir Wilson. I think why he was picked for the show His Dark Materials is because of him being in films and dramas such as The Kid Who Would Be King which is a film and The Secret Garden which is a drama. 

Lyra-Dafne Keen. I think why she was picked for the show His Dark Materials is because off her being in other show's and film's such as Logan which is a film and The Refugees which is a TV show.


2) How does His Dark Materials meet the BBC's mission statement to 'inform, educate and entertain'?

His Dark Materials meet the BBC's statement to inform, educate and entertain. The aspects of entertain is that there are hero's (Lyra) and villains (Mrs Coultard) in His Dark Materials that battle. The aspects of educate/entertain is that it tell's us about Oxford University and aspects of normal British life.  

3) What was American network HBO's role in making His Dark Materials and why is this important?

HBO is an American network that co-made His Dark Materials with the BBC so that their audience can be international. HBO was important as well because of them having a bigger budget than the BBC and of them being an American network they brought bigger stars (actors) from America too be in the show.  

4) Why are streaming services like Netflix or Amazon Prime bad news for the BBC?

It is bad news for the BBC because now the younger audience watch TV on streaming platform's such as Netflix and Disney + and now most people (even though they do not watch the BBC) still have to pay a TV licence fee and shows on Netflix that are not heavy regulated but the BBC is. The company that does this is called OFCOM which stands for The Office Of Communications.

5) How does His Dark Materials help the BBC to take on the big streaming rivals like Netflix and Amazon?

His Dark Materials help the BBC as this is a show which could be a show that rivals the shows that Netflix and Amazon produce and since His Dark Materials is co-made by HBO (a big production company which is based in the US) the BBC could get a bigger budget for it's other shows and make them better and it could persuade people to watch more of the BBC and it's shows.

The target audience for His Dark Materials is for people that have families because of it being a family show since it aired after 8 o'clock which is family time. 

2) What audience pleasures are offered by His Dark Materials - The City of Magpies?

A audience pleasure offered by His Dark Materials is that it is set in a fantasy world and there things that we do not expect to happen in the the normal world (escapism). There is also a aspect of comedy which is when Lyra is making eggs and makes them with the shell's still inside the egg and then feeds them to Will. The show is also thrilling and daring as there are also a threat of the spectres and Good VS Evil.

1) How many films are there in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)? In total there is 22 films made. 2) How much money have the MCU films made in total so far?
